- Telnet option negotiation is not the responsibility of the Winsock
- implementation, it is the responsibility of the Telnet implementation, which
- will be in the terminal emulator. Winsock provides TCP, not Telnet.

- There could be two solutions to your problem:
-
- 1) Check if your .xsession tries to load another window manager, such as twm
- or any equivalent. In other words if there is a window manager in the .xsession
- file try removing it and then the windows should stay open.
-
- 2) Another way is using the xwindemo without windows being the window manager.
- Switch the window-mode in Xwindemo to single window and leave the window
- manager in the .xsession file.
-
- I hope this helps you.

- In my original post I said that I tried Peter's TELW and Reflection 4.1
- with Trumpet WinSock and they both fail. I tried Reflection 4.0 with
- WRQ's own TCP/IP (without winsock) and it works well.
-
- The problem is only with the old HP-UX 7.0 machine, several others work
- well.
